Well this sucks.
Not how I envisioned my first post about my favorite league to talk about, the NFL. I’ve been through a lot as a Packers fan recently, and while I felt like this was coming for a while, it doesn’t make it any easier.
The news broke a few hours prior to writing this in the form of a Schefter Bomb:
The Packers get the Raiders’ first round pick in 2022, and another somewhere in the same draft – haven’t seen it yet, and frankly I don’t care. Not long after, the Raiders signed Adams to a 5 year deal, worth about an ASS load of money.
The Packers tried to Franchise Tag him for the season, something Adams openly stated he would not play under. The elephant in the room is the new contract given to Aaron Rodgers, something that made it pretty tough to give Adams what he wanted.
But it’s no real secret what he really wanted: to play with his old Fresno State teammate, Derek Carr. Whatever.
I’m not here to breakdown cap space and contracts. Not gonna crunch the numbers. What I will do is drink some wine, and watch a ton of Devante Adams highlights.
